Fechter II

The Fechter II level comprises three main elements:

• Demonstrating the ability to pass on knowledge.
• Completing the understanding of the Meyer Longsword syllabus.
• Demonstrating a more complete knowledge of the secondary weapons.

Dagger

Application

High guard parries

• Parry from High Guard 1 (against high left attacks using the dagger blade)
• Parry from High Guard 2 (against high left attacks using the wrist)
• Parry from High Guard 3 (against attacks by attacking the arm)
• Parry from High Guard 4 (against attacks by counterthrusting)

Low guard parries

• Parry from Low Guard 1 (against high attacks using the wrist)
• Parry from Low Guard 2 (against high attacks using the dagger blade)

Off hand parries

• Off Hand Parry 1 (against high attacks using a pommel stroke)
• Off Hand Parry 2 (against high attacks using a high arm break)
• Off Hand Parry 3 (against attacks using redirecting)

Fencing Free-play

The students shall demonstrate their ability to fence using the principles from Meyer's system in the following conditions:

• Fight a 2 minute bout at slow speed showing control and flow
• Fight a 2 minute bout at high speed using fechtschule rules
• Fight a 2 minute bout at high speed using tournament rules
• Referee a 2 minute bout between peers

Secondary Weapon

The candidate must choose one of the secondary weapons from the Meyer system from:

• Dussack
• Rappier
• Staff/Halberd
