This is another name for Schranckhut.
Dagger
The crossed guard is the name for any guard position wherein the hands are held somewhat crossed over each other, generally at the wrist. This could plausibly done at low, medium and high arm positions. The arm on top in the cross can change depending on context - though right (dominant/dagger) hand on top appears in the initial description, the devices use the reverse position.
Again the dagger grip can be reverse or orthodox.
The illustration shows a fencer in crossed guard on the low right (with left leg forward), this variation uses an orthodox grip and crosses left over right, the opponent stands in Oberhut, but is using the left hand.
