Lehrling Level 2 studends should have a firm grasp of all of the principal and secondary cuts and guards, as well as an understanding of various handworks, especially the deceptions (failing, flowing off, flitting, changing) and other works such as winding (Winden), setting-aside (Absetzen) used in Meyer.  This level also adds a variety of thrusting techniques to the student's arsenal.
