Parrying with the flat in a hanging point (Hangetort) position as a prelude to Winden or Umbschnappen.

Applications

In which the 'student' demonstrates their knowledge to the 'teacher'.

Application 1: Hanging Parry

In this application the technique is being used in the Onset. In this case the fencer is acting in the Nach after the opponent attempts to strike them.

Passing Step forward with the right leg, cut a Oberhauw to the upper left opening.	[[Lift the hands high into a hanging point to catch the blow with a slight step offline with the rear leg.
	Using the force of their blow, let the sword cut around overhead into a high Zornhauw accompanied by a Passing Step back with the left leg.
