One of Meyer's secondary guards, Einhorn is a a hanging guard with the point offline above. The guard is almost identical to the ochs except that the point is pointing upward over the top of the opponent’s head.

The guard can be performed on both sides, just like ochs, and as with both ochs and hangetort the posture can be cross or front weighted.

This is a transitional position which is a natural end point for a cut through from below (unterhauw).
