In which the 'student' demonstrates their knowledge to the 'teacher' of various parries inspired by the devices against attacks at various openings.

Response to an Oberhauw

Passing Step Oberhauw Gathering Step forward Kron parry
Shove up and to the side (Außreissen) with the crossguard.
Bring the sword around over in a false edge cut with crossed arms overhead, cutting down vertically at the upper right opening/right shoulder.
Swipe away the incoming cut with the long edge Keeping the downward momentum bring the sword around past the left side and around overhead in a circle ((Zirckel), then take a broad Glide Step to the left, cut with the long edge and extended arms, leaning away from the Teacher's sword reach.

Passing Step Zwerch Crossguard catch in the angle of the long edge and crossguard beneath the blade, Gathering Step in if necessary.
Lift the blade and Passing Step forward left, releasing the left hand and grasping the Teacher's haft between their hands, palm away from them. The right hand keeps the sword trapped so they don't move away to their left with it.
Bring their haft out to the left then with a Passing Step back bring it straight down to your mid thing to unbalance/disarm them. Cut with the right hand.

Passing Step Mittelhauw Gathering Step forward, crossguard catch in the angle of the long edge and crossguard beneath the blade.
Lift the blade and release the right hand, take a Passing Step with the right leg, so your right leg is behind theirs, hip to hip.
Let the blade fall behind you with your left hand, and drive the right hand up over the Meister's left shoulder or grasp their collar beside the left of their neck, in readiness for a throw/choke (Einlauffen).

Passing Step Unterhauw to lower opening Gathering Step forward left, crossguard catch beneath the long edge.
Triangle Step to the left with the right leg, cut down with the long edge and crossed wrists to bar their blade from above (Sperren) and strike the back of their lead leg, thus we bar and strike in one motion.
