Cut 8 is executed thus:
- Stand in Medium guard
- Lunge on the lead leg and deliver a cut upward from the inside line to the opponent's groin.
- Recover to guard
Hutton referred to this as "an Italian cut, which is used as a sort of substitute for the attack at the leg. It is a cruel blow, and should never be used in school play."
As an interesting side note, this cut is not seen in Radaelli's canonical cuts.
