In the dussack section Meyer gives a specific cut name to a blow using failing (felhlen), presumably as a short cut in describing failing as a technique.

Execution

• When your opponent stands in bogen or gerade versetzung against you.
• Cut backhanded to his upper right opening
• As he moves to parry "fail" by letting the weak fall to your left side.
• Pull the guard up around the head and cut a zornhauw with a step out to his left.
