The act of catching the blade on the long edge of the sword and "cutting it away" off to one side, usually with a step to the other side. For example, in the Nebenhut with the rappier, if the opponent cuts or thrusts the blade is moved out toward the straight parrying, then sliced away down to Wechsel on the left or right.
This action is a sliding on the blade rather than a percussive parry.
