Repeated cuts up and back on the same diagonal.
For example with the staff we can go from low guard up to high guard with a gathering step, then cut back down to the same low guard with another gathering step.
Meyer usually repeats this several times as a way of forcing the opponent back, or creating a rhythm which we then break.
